What we handle

Injury cases Gooch Law takes.

Every one of these starts the same way: a free conversation about what happened and an honest answer about whether there is a case.

How Justin works an injury case

Prepared for trial from day one. That is what makes them settle.

Insurance companies price a claim by asking one question: will this lawyer actually try the case? Justin's answer has been yes since 2013. Every file is built with the evidence, the medical picture and the witness statements a jury would need, and the adjuster on the other side knows it.

  • Investigation started immediately: photos, video, reports, witnesses
  • Medical treatment coordinated so the record tells the full story
  • Every communication with the insurer goes through Justin
  • Settlement only when the number is fair, and trial when it is not

What to do after an injury

The first week matters more than any other.

Get treated and follow through

See a doctor even if you feel fine; adrenaline hides injuries. Keep every appointment. Gaps in treatment are the first thing an adjuster points to.

Preserve the evidence

Photos of the scene, the vehicles, the hazard, the injuries. Names of witnesses. The police or incident report number. Do not repair or discard anything yet.

Personal injury FAQ

Questions injured people ask first.

How much does it cost to hire Justin for an injury case?

Nothing upfront. Personal injury cases at Gooch Law are handled on a contingency fee: the fee is a percentage of what is recovered, agreed in writing before the case starts. If there is no recovery, there is no attorney fee.

How long do I have to bring a claim in Kentucky?

Many Kentucky injury claims must be filed within one year. Motor vehicle accident claims generally get two years from the accident or the last no-fault (PIP) payment. Medical malpractice and wrongful death claims follow their own rules. Because the deadline depends on the facts, call early and let Justin confirm yours.

What if the insurance company already made an offer?

Do not accept it before someone independent has looked at it. Early offers are made before the full extent of the injury is known, and once you sign a release the claim is over. Justin will tell you honestly whether the offer is fair.

Will my case go to trial?

Most injury cases settle. But the cases that settle well are the ones the insurance company believes will be tried if the offer is not fair. Justin prepares every case as if it will be, which is exactly what gives you leverage at the negotiating table.

What is Kentucky no-fault insurance?

Kentucky is a choice no-fault state. Most drivers carry personal injury protection (PIP), which pays the first medical bills and some lost wages regardless of fault, typically up to a $10,000 basic limit. A claim against the at-fault driver for the rest, including pain and suffering, is separate, and certain thresholds apply. Justin sorts out which coverages apply to your wreck.
